New Director and Associates

Peter Sisam, Andrea McGregor and Finn Scott

As the middle of another busy year in residential and commercial design approaches, we are delighted to announce some exciting new appointments at Bossley Architects.

Peter Sisam has now become a Director. He has been with Bossley Architects for nine years, and offers extensive experience in commercial and hospitality design.

As a Senior Associate in the practice he has been responsible for a number of significant projects. These include the award-winning Fold House in the Bay of Islands and the recently completed Regional Eye Care Centre in Honiara, Solomon Islands, for The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ. The eye centre is self-sufficient, catching and treating rain water for use, having it’s own wastewater treatment system and utilising an off-grid solar power generation system to minimise energy use and running costs. The project also provided numerous opportunities for local sub-contractors to upskill.

The South Waikato Sports and Events Centre has brought a lively new heart to Tokoroa and Peter’s part in this project has led to further work with urban design studies for revisions to the centre of the town (in conjunction with Wraight Associates).

Peter was also responsible for the new childcare centre at The Hearing House and is working with them on their new facility at their site in Auckland’s Greeenlane, which is about to begin construction.

Peter’s previous museum experience also sees him involved with Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom, in Foxton. This proposed complex will be a unique mix of a local Dutch and Iwi museum, exhibition and performance spaces, art gallery and public library. Construction is about to begin.

Currently Peter is also involved with the 195-room, $200 million 5 star Park Hyatt Hotel in Auckland, where the first sod was turned earlier this year by Prime Minister, John Key.

Andrea McGregor, our office manager, is now a Senior Associate. Andrea has been running the office for almost fifteen years and has great expertise in cost control and financial management. She maintains efficient systems and ensures that our clients’ requirements are met, whilst joint architectural ambitions are also attained.

Finn Scott is now an Associate. An extremely talented architectural graduate, Finn has been working alongside Pete and Peter on projects as varied as apartment buildings in the Vinegar Lane development and more than 100 terrace houses, walk-ups and apartments at Hobsonville.

He has been involved in designing a number of individual houses, including the recently finished White House on Takapuna Beach, and an almost-completed beach house at Onetangi, on Waiheke Island.

Prior to joining us Finn worked on sports projects, including the Whangarei Stadium and the Stanley Street Tennis upgrade in Auckland.

We are delighted to be announcing these changes during a year which has been stimulating and busy so far, and this energy and desire for expertise in the community looks set to carry on as New Zealand’s economy continues to stand on relatively firm ground.

Our 18-strong team looks forward to continuing to work with our clients, collaborators and consultants producing buildings of the very highest quality.

As always, our aim is to produce “Architecture that lifts the spirit”.
