The oak finishes and angled cedar ceiling feeling warm and inviting at Waiheke House

We believe that good architecture improves people’s lives, in all aspects of the physical environment. Two projects that demonstrate the diversity of projects we like have input into have been shortlisted for the NZIA 2023 Auckland Awards. The new footbridge between Onehunga and Mangere Bridge, and a house in central Auckland.

We are thrilled to have received the Interior HOME of the year for Clifftops, a sculptural inter-generational home on the edge of the Waitemata. A wonderful collaboration with Sonya Cotter Design, John Erren , Bannan Construction and Challenge Construction and many many more, not to mention our fantastic clients.

We are really chuffed to be awarded both the City HOME of the Year and the Interior HOME of the year last night! Well done to all involved, including of course our wonderful client family.

Nearing completion of the Design Guidelines for a fantastic project in collaboration with @isthmus_nz for a coastal hilltop community development in Tairawhiti Gisborne. Consisting of several special sites strategically scattered around a prominent ridgeline, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Gisborne city. An awesome opportunity to question the fundamentals of how we live and build a community from scratch in the world we live in today.

In concurrence with with our Architects Declare initiative, BA are please to announce we are members of NZ Green Building Council along with Finn Scott becoming a qualified Greenstar practitioner. Congrats Finn!  NZGBC 2019-2020

Great to see Pete’s writings about Encampments appear in Architecture NZ July 2019 Issue. For years Bossley Architects have been designing houses as groups of buildings which create encampments and suggested courtyards, reinforced by the landscape, as a Kiwi evolution of the more traditional walled gardens of europe, middle east and asia. A fine example of these, the Fold House in the Bay of Islands, with it’s gently undulating triangulated roof, appears on the cover. Photo by Simon Devitt. Great work by Peter Sisam, Don McKenzie, Tim Lane, Karen Ngan Kee, Peter Westbrook, John Deuchress with Pete Bossley. Built beautifully by Lindesay Construction
